Tom
Joyner Foundation 2008 Full Ride Scholarship
The Tom Joyner Foundation will award
one scholarship to a student entering a Historically Black College
or University (HBCU) in the fall of 2008. The recipient will receive
full-tuition waivers and a stipend to cover room, board, and books.
Eligible students must:
• Be a citizen of the United States
• Attend a United States High School (with expected graduation
of Spring 2008) and have at least a 3.0 GPA by the end of their
junior year.
• Minimum High School GPA 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale)
• Minimum SAT 1300 or ACT 28.
• Have applied and been accepted to an HBCU by May 1, 2008.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities by participation in
community service, extracurricular, or other organizations.
• Finalists will complete an interview with the selection
committee in March, 2008.

Scholarship (Society of Automotive Engineers)
• Two $3500.00 renewable scholarships
• Need to be a child or grandchild of a current SAE Detroit
Section member.

AFSCME Family Scholarship
• Any graduating high school senior who is a daughter or

GOLDEN CORRAL® MILITARY APPRECIATION
ESSAY CONTEST
• Persons 13 years of age and older, who have served or
whose parents have served in the US Armed Forces, are invited
to submit an essay conveying the pride they have in their parent’s

aspirations.
