College Tours

The D. Duane Hurtt Student-Athlete Resource Center (SARC) provides opportunities for local students to visit regional colleges and universities during their “College Tour” series. Once per quarter, Think Detroit PAL staff will accompany students on campus tours of various types of schools. Recent schools students have visited include Albion, Michigan State University, Saginaw Valley, Western Michigan, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Bowling Green State University and the University of Toledo. There is no cost to participate in this program.

One-on-one Career and College Counseling

The D. Duane Hurtt Student-Athlete Resource Center (SARC) is designed to provide student-athletes with a variety of resources they can use to help them begin planning for their future. One service we offer is one-on-one career and college planning sessions with a seasoned admission professional. Issues discussed include financial aid, college admissions, NCAA Clearinghouse requirements, ACT/SAT preparation, career opportunities beyond high school and college planning/preparation.
