Student Athlete Resource Center

Helping to make Detroit a great place to be a kid and raise a family...

The D. Duane Hurtt Student-Athlete Resource Center (SARC) is designed to provide student-athletes with a variety of resources they can use to help them begin planning for their future.

The Hurtt SARC provides student-athletes with one-on-one career and college planning sessions with a seasoned admission professional. This counseling opportunity is offered to student-athletes and their parents in half hour sessions and occurs every other Thursday.

The Center also provides opportunities for local students to visit regional colleges and universities during their “College Tour” series. Once per quarter, Think Detroit PAL staff will accompany students to campus tours of various different types of schools.

The Hurtt SARC includes workshops and seminars throughout the year that focus on important issues for student-athletes including financial aid, college admissions, NCAA Clearinghouse requirements, ACT/SAT preparation resources, career opportunities beyond high school, and critical characteristics of successful collegiate student-athletes.

Please check the link below for up-to-date scholarship opportunities.
