THINK DETROIT PAL COBRAS RECEIVE EQUIPMENT FROM OXFORD JUNIOR WILDCATS, ATTEND DETROIT LIONS TRAINING CAMP PRACTICE TOGETHER
OXFORD DONATION SAVES SEASON AFTER COBRAS EQUIPMENT WAS STOLEN
ALLEN PARK, Mich.—Members of the Think Detroit PAL Cobras youth football team attended a Detroit Lions training camp practice Friday with players and coaches from the Oxford Junior Wildcats. The Wildcats donated equipment to the Cobras, whose equipment was stolen during the off season.
The Wildcats donated 120 shoulder pads to the Cobras’ Class C (ages 7 and 8) and Class D (9-10) teams. All of the Cobras equipment was stolen during the off season and few items have been recovered. However, the Class C and D teams are now able to practice because of the Wildcat’s generosity.
The Lion’s, who sponsor TDP football, invited about 60 members from both teams to meet at the Lion’s practice facility in Allen Park to discuss their upcoming seasons and watch the Lions workout. The young players escorted the Lions onto the field and had the chance to meet with several players, including linebacker Larry Foote, who played PAL football.
