THINK DETROIT PAL HOSTS 23RD ANNUAL CHEER COMPETITION

DETROIT, Mich.—This Sunday from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, Think Detroit PAL will showcase its largest athletic program for girls with its 23rd Annual Cheer Competition at Calihan Hall.   The day promises to be an exciting one, filled with unlimited tumbling, cheering and dancing for nearly 1,200 girls aged 8-14.  The event will conclude with an awards ceremony honoring participants and the Cheerleader of the Year Award.

“The cheer competition is one of our premier athletic events,” says CEO Dan Varner.  “This event captures the true spirit of the cheer program.”

Tickets are $4 in advance sold at the Think Detroit PAL office.  On the day of the event tickets are $5 at door, $2 for football players wearing their jersey.

Think Detroit PAL was formed on March 1, 2006, by the merger of two of the leading youth development organizations in the Detroit area:  Think Detroit, Inc. and the Detroit Police Athletic League (PAL). The organization is one of the largest non-profit urban youth leadership programs in the nation, and serves nearly 12,000 youth annually.
