Pepsi’s VP of Field Marketing Joins Think Detroit Pal’s Board of Directors

March 24, 2009 (DETROIT, MI) - William E. Langford of the Pepsi Bottling Group, has been named to the board of Think Detroit PAL.  Langford will serve a 2-year term on the organization’s Board of Directors. 

“I am privileged to join the Think Detroit PAL board,” said Langford.  “It is a great opportunity to serve the youth of Detroit” 

Langford is vice president of field marketing for the central business unit   He leads a team in the development and implementation of marketing programs in Michigan, Minneapolis, Wisconsin, Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Eastern Kentucky. 

Prior to joining the Pepsi Bottle Group, Langford was director of urban marketing development for PepsiCo.  He sits on the advisory board of the Salvation Army, the Arts League of Michigan and the trustee board at the Parade Company.  He is also member of 100 Black Men of Greater Detroit and the Detroit alumni chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. 

Think Detroit Pal was formed on March 1, 2006, by the merger of two of the leading youth development organizations in the Detroit area:  Think Detroit, Inc. and the Detroit Police Athletic League (PAL). The organization is one of the largest non-profit urban youth leadership programs in the nation, and serves 13,000 youths annually.
