2012 DTE Energy Foundation MVP Awards
 
Detroit Free Press Marathon

The 2012 DTE Energy MVP Awards benefiting Think Detroit PAL will take place on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Time: 5:30 pm - Cocktail Reception in the Romanesque Gallery, followed by a seated dinner and awards ceremony at 6:30 pm.

Ticket Price: $125

What: This event recognizes and celebrates the achievements of those that have demonstrated tremendous leadership in the community.

Why: 10,000 girls and boys in the city of Detroit that participate in our athletic programs will benefit greatly from the kind contributions of those affiliated with this event.

Dave Bing MVP Leadership Award

Ford Motor Company, with Executive Vice President and President of the Americas Mark Fields accepting on behalf of the company

The Dave Bing MVP Leadership Award is awarded annually to not more than two parties who have demonstrated long-term, outstanding contributions to causes focusing on character building and youth development within southeast Michigan.

John D. Scodellaro Builder Award

George S. Rogers, former CEO of Team Detroit and current Director of Global Business Development with WPP

The John D. Scodellaro Award is presented annually to not more than 2 outstanding supporters of Think Detroit PAL and its mission. Recipients may be past or current board members and/or their employers, corporate or individual donors, or foundations.

Dan Varner/ Mike Tenbusch Game Changer Award

Chief Ralph L. Godbee, Jr. of the Detroit Police Department

The Dan S. Varner/Mike Tenbusch “Game Changer” Award is awarded annually to one or more individuals who have demonstrated willingness to create a bold vision and take risks in the effort to make Detroit a great place to be a kid and raise a family.  Specifically, the recipient is a coach, volunteer, community advocate, or anyone else who:

  • Works or volunteers in the city of Detroit in an effort to improve the lives of Detroit young people
  • Creates change or initiates new ways of overcoming obstacles
  • Has a history of getting results
