Our Mission

Think Detroit PAL, in partnership with the Detroit Police Department and community volunteers, builds character in young people through athletic, academic and leadership development programs.

We provide seasonal leagues, camps, and clinics in 11 different sports.  All of our programming is measured against five standards standards:

Standards of excellence
Fair opportunities for boys & girls
Positive family environment
Clean & safe facilities
Consistent attention to detail
Superior sportsmanship

We provide much more than youth sports and recreation opportuntiiets.  Together, our volunteers, staff and community partners aim to make Detroit a great place to be a kid and raise a family.

Think Detroit PAL volunteers use our athletic, academic and leadership programs to assist in building character in young people.  What is character?

We define our character values as follows

Virtues of Character
Purpose A positive vision of who they will be
Responsibility Respect for self and others
Integrity Does the right thing and follows core values
Perseverance Works towards goals and overcomes obstacles
Compassion Cares and gives back to the community
